Hello! My name is Shawna and this is the world’s best kitty, Opie! I have had this sweet girl since she was a kitten, and it kills me to think about being separated from her. Last year, she was diagnosed with a heart murmur and cannot go through the standard procedure to get spayed. They require special attention, a different kind of anesthesia, and 24-hour monitoring, which costs between $800-$1200 for the procedure. I have called every vet office in Vermont, and they’re all around the same price. As a single mom of 3 kids, I just don’t have the funds.

I would love to keep her with the only family she has ever known, but if I can’t get her spayed, I will have to find someone to take her who can provide the life she needs! If anyone could help keep my baby home with me and her family, we would be forever grateful!!
