Support Shawn Pierce and His Family as He Recovers

On June 13, 2024, Shawn Pierce suffered a serious accident at work, resulting in multiple fractures and internal injuries. He was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital on Long Island, NY, and immediately went into lifesaving emergency surgery. He had subsequent surgeries in the days that followed to relieve pressure and to stabilize his spine. The full extent of his recovery is unknown, however the doctors shared that Shawn faces at least a year of recovery and rehabilitation.

Shawn’s wife, Julie has taken a leave from work so that she can travel back and forth from their home in southeastern Connecticut to the hospital on Long Island. We would like to help support Shawn and his family, to give him time to heal without having to worry about expenses. As you can imagine the expenses not covered by insurance are going to be significant. If you don’t know Shawn, there is nothing more important to him than his family. A loving husband and father of three, he always speaks of his kids athletic and academic successes. Shawn and Julie have attended countless lacrosse and volleyball games, traveling all over New England to support their kids. While he may grumble about having “three kids in college”, it is clear he is proud of them and everything they do.

Shawn is also a big part of the BD Remodeling family. Working as a construction project manager and purchaser for over 23 years. His hard work, stubbornness, and tough love has earned him the nickname “Bulldog.” Traits that will serve him well in the year ahead.
