Hello everyone! We are Shawn & Larkin Nygard. Larkin is a high school teacher in Winona, Mississippi. We are blessed to have found true love in our lives. We live in Mathiston, Mississippi, with our 3 children.

Larkin was in an accident on 1/20/26 involving a drunk driver. She was cut out & flown to UMMC Hospital in Jackson, Ms. She has suffered a compound fracture of her right femur, multiple fractured ribs & lung contusions. Larkin spent l0 days in the hospital, then on 1/30/26-2/7/26 she did therapy at Methodist rehab in Jackson. She will need outpatient therapy for at least 12 weeks and will do therapy closer to home.

Shawn is still recovering from his stroke. The care for Larkin has been & will be difficult.

My wife of 21 years & mother of 3…Larkin, as many of you have experienced, is one of the kindest, caring, compassionate Christian woman you could ever meet. My wife has always cared & given her heart to her community, church, friends & her students as a teacher. She is now going to awake & have to recover from an accident that befell her that was due to a Drunk driver. The Lord has spared us from a tragedy that could have been worse. I thank Him greatly for keeping her here to be with her 3 babies & me. If you want to & are able to make the transition from hospital to home recovery easier & less impactful from this accident. it would be greatly received with gratitude & love.

Expenses are mobility, care of Larkin when home, home adaptation if needed, transportation.
