Help Shawn Fight for His Life! Immediate Help Needed!

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Shawn Lynch, and my wife, Kathryn, and I live in Port Arthur, Texas. For 28 years, I've proudly dedicated my life to truck driving, a career I deeply love, and am incredibly thankful for. It's been our rock, our sole source of income, and the foundation of our life together. But in an instant, everything changed. I've suddenly lost my career, my job, our health insurance, and our entire income, because I've been medically disqualified from driving an 18-wheeler. My life is now in danger, and we desperately need your help.

A Sudden Crisis: My Battle for Breath
On April 21, 2025, our world was turned upside down. I was rushed to the ER by ambulance, struggling with uncontrollable coughing, severe shortness of breath, and a sharp, stabbing pain in my back. After being treated for pneumonia and a kidney infection, I received a devastating diagnosis on April 25: Pulmonary Fibrosis. I was immediately put on 4 liters of oxygen and told to see a lung specialist near home.

Unraveling Diagnoses and a Fight for Survival
My local lung doctor confirmed the initial diagnosis and uncovered even more serious conditions. After extensive bloodwork and testing, I've been diagnosed with:

Moderate Pulmonary Fibrosis: Instead of the flexible, sponge-like tissue our lungs should have, mine are scarred, significantly reducing my ability to take in oxygen.
Chronic Respiratory Failure: My lungs simply cannot get enough oxygen into my blood or effectively remove carbon dioxide over time.
Dyspnea upon Exertion: Simple activities like walking, talking, or even laughing leave me struggling for breath.
Excess Fluid in my Lungs (Pleural Effusion): There's too much fluid building up in the lining of my lungs.
My required oxygen level has been increased to 6 liters to try and compensate.
Most recently, I've been diagnosed with Hepato-Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS): This critical condition means non-oxygenated blood is leaking from the right side of my heart to the left, further depriving my muscles and organs of the vital oxygen they need.
My doctor explained that HPS is common among cirrhosis patients, a condition I was diagnosed with in September 2024. He delivered the stark news: I may urgently need a multi-organ transplant to survive. Without immediate support, my life and my chance of survival are in extreme peril.

How Your Support Can Save My Life
With my career abruptly ended and no income, Kathryn and I are facing an overwhelming struggle just to cover basic necessities and the critical medical costs piling up. Every dollar raised will directly go towards:

Rent: Keeping a roof over our heads.
Car Payment & Car Insurance: Maintaining our only transportation for vital appointments.
Gas: Fueling trips to countless doctor visits and crucial transplant evaluations.
Overnight Accommodations: Covering stays near the hospital during long, intensive transplant evaluations.
Medical Insurance: Acquiring the coverage we desperately need for ongoing treatment and future surgeries.
Medical Equipment: Purchasing essential supplies like oxygen concentrators, tubing, and cannulas that keep me breathing.

Will you please help Kathryn and me as we fight for my life? Your loving gift offers me a chance at survival and a future. We are praying for your generosity, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any help you can provide. May God richly bless you and your household for your kindness.

Thank you,

Shawn and Kathryn Lynch.
