Hey everybody, my name is Joe and this campaign is to help support my friend Shawn Knuckey as he begins to recover after being stabbed multiple times.

On January 2, 2026 at around 1am, a man with a knife attacked 2 people in Newport, Oregon. Tragically, one man died of his wounds. Shawn was able to pound on a neighboring door. The person answered the door to Shawn being repeatedly stabbed. The occupant of the home called 911, retrieved a handgun and ultimately shot and killed the attacker.

Shawn was life-flighted to OHSU in Portland where he has undergone multiple surgeries. His doctors say that while he is alert, he is currently intubated and has a long road ahead with the estimated hospital time being over a month and then months of home recovery.

Shawn is a manager at Fred Meyer and while the store is keeping his job for him, it will be quite some time before he will be able to go back to work. He's going to need help with bills and everyday living expenses. That's where we come in. Lets show him what community is all about and help out with his road to recovery.
