Support Shawn and Missy through Shawn’s Cancer Battle

Our close family friend Shawn was recently diagnosed with stage 4 bile duct, liver, and lymph nodes cancer. This difficult diagnosis comes after Shawn supported his wife, Missy, through her health struggles with kidney disease and a subsequent kidney transplant just last year. It has been a challenging year for both of them and their entire family as they have faced these complex medical issues while trying to maintain employment and pay their bills. Shawn is no longer able to work due to his diagnosis and Missy has had to drop down to working half time in order to transport Shawn to his appointments and help care for him at home. Shawn and Missy are two of the most wonderful people we know. They are parents to three adult children and Papa and Nana to six young grandchildren, two of whom they are helping raise. Shawn’s diagnosis, coupled with the cost of Missy’s anti-rejection medications, have resulted in significant financial hardship.
