I am raising funds for a family family in dire need of assistance after the flooding in Carrboro after Tropical Storm Chantal. They were living in a transitional recovery home in our neighborhood and are now left with no support. They lost all their possessions in the flood.

Shawn (mother) and her kids Ayana (10) and Braeden (14) are currently in an extended stay hotel that they are paying for themselves. Funding from the Red Cross is trickling in but it's not enough.

She has the contacts for Social Services, Housing and Development, etc. but I'm not sure what, if any, assistance they are providing.

They urgently need money to pay for their housing, food, and car repairs. Not to mention other household items for when they are able to move to a more secure place.

In addition, Ayana suffers from seizures that have become more severe in the last two weeks. She has had multiple trips to the ER. The family is very stressed.
