Rally for Shawn's brain cancer treatment

To our friends, family and community:
My name is Kaitlyn, and I am Shawn and Cori's daughter. I'm creating this fundraiser on behalf of them, to help my mother with unforeseen medical and household bills that have gotten out of control.

August 16, 2024 was the day my family's lives were turned upside down. Shawn was hospitalized for nearly two weeks and diagnosed with an inoperable glioblastoma, which is the most aggressive type of brain cancer. Within days, he was a completely different person, losing most of his ability to speak and was also paralyzed completely on the entire right side of his body.

He had to start chemotherapy and radiation, which eventually helped to stop the spread of the tumor for the time being. After several more months of physical therapy, he has somewhat started walking on his own again. He still does not have use of his right arm and hand, and struggles with speech.

Shawn has been unable to work for over 5 months now and realistically will not be able to ever again. This, combined with months of 24/7 caregiving, and daily appointments downtown has put a huge strain on my mom, myself, and my husband, Josh, who have had to miss countless days of work to care for my dad. With medical bills piling up so quickly, we would be forever grateful for any help from our friends, family and community.
Every dollar will help his wife Cori manage the continuing costs of chemotherapy, caregiving, physical therapy, and missed days of work.

My mom and dad are the kind of people who will do anything for anyone in need. And they are very proud people, asking for help is not like them, but it also shows the severity of the situation. Thank you all for your continued kindness during this very challenging time. Shawn wants everyone to know that he is so incredibly thankful and that he is giving his all to fight this awful disease. We love him more then he knows, and know there are so many out there that do as well. We are praying for a miracle and kindly ask that you do as well!

We also wanted to thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts that donated when this first happened, we genuinely could not have gotten this far without you.
