Shawn has been fighting through an incredibly difficult medical journey over the past five months. Since October 7th, 2025, he has been unable to work due to a serious genetic condition that required multiple surgeries and now an extended recovery.
In November, Shawn underwent major surgery on both feet to remove numerous large fibromas—each about the size of a ping-pong ball. These growths had developed tendrils that snaked around nerves and tendons, making the surgeries extremely complex and painful. The procedures were necessary to prevent permanent damage that could have left him unable to walk normally.
Unfortunately, that was only the beginning.
In December, Shawn had surgery on his right hand to remove the same type of growths, followed by surgery on his left hand in January.
After enduring these major surgeries and months of healing, Shawn is now working hard in physical therapy to regain use of both hands and both feet, attending sessions three times a week. Therapy is painful and exhausting, often leaving him with sleepless nights, but it is necessary as he relearns how to walk normally and regains full use of his hands.
Beyond the physical pain, this experience has been emotionally isolating and financially overwhelming. Although Shawn receives short-term disability through his union, it is not enough to cover his rent, utilities, insurance premiums, prescriptions, groceries and vehicle repairs. Medical bills have quickly added up from deductibles and co-pays. Now he is also facing ongoing co-pays for physical therapy three times a week.
We are asking for your help to support Shawn during this incredibly challenging time. Any donation—no matter the amount—will help him stay afloat while he focuses on healing and rebuilding his strength so he can eventually return to work and regain his independence.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page with others would mean just as much.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support during this difficult chapter in Shawn’s life. ❤️
