On Wednesday, our community was shaken by a devastating fire in Southwark, South London.

Tragically, a young boy, Tommy Bally Dean, lost his life. Our hearts are completely broken, and we are sending all our love, strength, and prayers to his family during this unimaginable time. No words can ease the pain they are facing, and we hold them in our thoughts constantly. There is also a GoFundMe set up to support Tommy’s family, and we encourage anyone who can to please support them as well and keep them in your prayers.

This same fire has also left a family facing unimaginable devastation.

Their flat was completely destroyed, and they have lost absolutely everything — their home, their belongings, their clothes — everything they had.

16-year-old son, Shauny, who many of you may know, is currently in hospital with critical burns and is in an induced coma. He will need multiple surgeries, including skin grafts, and faces a long and incredibly difficult road to recovery.

Shaun 9-year-old sister has been left without a home, without her belongings, and without the sense of safety every child deserves. Shauny’s mum Jessica & Father is currently moving between hospitals and hotels just to stay close to Shauny during this critical time.

This fundraiser is to help a family begin to rebuild their lives — to provide basic essentials like clothing, emergency accommodation, and support while Shauny continues his fight to recover.

No one ever expects their life to change overnight like this, but right now they need the support, love, and strength of their community more than ever.
