(Scroll down for update)
My name is Adam Taylor. I am the Husband of Shauna Taylor. This fundraiser is to help my very beautiful wife Shauna. Her life has been one medical problem after another since she was 5 years old. That's is when her first surgery to reimplant her ureter was. Throughout her life she has had to have many more surgeries including a historectomy, 2 adhesion removal surgeries, gall bladder removal, 2 seperate surgeries to remove both her ovaries. Because of all these abdominal surgeries she developed whats called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) The nerve damage caused by all these surgeries makes her brain think that there should be pain in the lower abdomen and pelvic area. Causing her to have uncontrollable pain in these areas. Since it is nreve related, narcotics do not have an affect. There is no medication or therapy that can take this pain away. It is rare. So for the last 15 years she has had to learn to deal with it. It hasnt been easy but she is a very strong amazing woman trying her best. Now, on top of all that, she has had another surgery in 2022 to remove breast cancer. With chemotherapy, radiation and a pill to be taken 5 to 10 years, she was supposed to be good and not have to worry with an 80% chance the cancer wouldn't come back. Recently in May of 2024 she learned that that pill wasn't working and was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. She is only 54 years old and has been through hell all her life. Considering everything, we have managed to deal with everything mentally as best as possible. Financially it has been a lifetime struggle draining savings, 401K's and working my ass off as much as possible to keep up on medical expenses. Barely being able to make it month to month. It's always been a struggle to figure out where the money will come from to pay the bills. Up until now we have managed. Recently the insurance I have through my work has left me with an ultimatum. Pay an extra $400.00 a month (overall $800 a month) to keep her on my insurance and continue to have coverage for her cancer treatment and keep her alive, or drop her off my insurance and save that $400 expense so we can pay our bills every month and have her cancer treatments stop. It's literally a life and death situation. So I am creating this fundraiser to help pay the extra $400 insurance increase so she can continue to receive her cancer treatments and allow her to have as much time as possible with her family and friends who love her dearly. I thank you for taking the time to read her tragic story and for any donation you can give to assist Shauna in her battle.
Sincerely, Adam Taylor.
UPDATE
I wanted to post an update on everything that is going on. Things have changed a little bit. The previous situation involved weather to pay an extra $400-$450 a month to keep Shauna on my insurance through my employer. In order for her to be able to have the medicine she needs to keep the cancer at bay as long as possible, I chose to pay the extra money for my insurance. Little did I know that a week later I would be getting laid off from my much needed job. So now not only does Shauna not have health insurance, I no longer have a job to bring home a paycheck. I will be receiving unemployment but we all know that is significantly less than a usual paycheck. We are looking into various options for insurance and are trying to do whatever we can think of to make things work. Please keep praying for Shauna. I thank each and every one of you for your donations and support. Sincerely. Please share this gofund to everyone you think may help. Thank you all again!! Your support means the world to Shauna and I.
