Shaun McCray has always lived life on the edge—but even he didn’t sign up for a boat flambé. A freak accident with a malfunctioning propane heater turned his boat into the set of a disaster movie, complete with a fireball that rolled through and decided his lower legs and feet were the main course!

Now Shaun’s healing up at the UCI Medical Center Burn Unit in Orange, where an amazing team has been patching him back together (and probably making sure he keeps a safe distance from all things flammable). After a week of care, he’s gearing up to head home soon—right back to the very boat that tried to roast him.

Here’s where we come in. Shaun’s got a tough road to recovery ahead, and the last thing he needs is to stress over everyday expenses—or potential unknown medical bills that might sneak up on him.
