Good day, my name is Cheryl from Atlanta, GA, and I’m writing this story with immense love and gratitude on behalf of my dearest friend and sister of 43 years, Sharon, whose presence has been a blessing and a source of strength throughout my life while I battled cancer.

On October 28th, Hurricane Melissa tore through our community of Jamaica, leaving behind heartbreaking destruction. Among those deeply affected was my dear sister friend, Sharon. Her home in Discovery Bay has suffered extensive damage — the roof was torn apart, windows blew out, exterior doors were blown off the hinges, and flooding destroyed much of the interior in the storm’s aftermath.

Sharon has always been the one to show up for others. Whether it was helping neighbors during tough times, volunteering at local events, or caring for family, she never hesitated to give her time and love. Sharon had already made plans to help her community in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa. Now, she’s the one who needs our help. We’re raising funds to help Sharon rebuild her home, replace essential items, and cover repair costs for her as well as her 91-year-old mother's home, whose entire roof flew off. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a real difference in helping her put her life back together.
