Help Me Bring My Book To Life!

Hi, I'm Sharon — a therapist, storyteller, and believer in living life on your own terms.

For the past four or five years, I’ve been working on a book. It’s a collection of essays, reflections, and stories about what it means to let go of the pressure to live a life based on what we’ve been told we should do — and instead, learn to live by our own values. This book is deeply personal. It speaks to healing, self-acceptance, and the courage it takes to create a life that feels honest, not just impressive.

Now, I'm ready to take the next step: putting together a full book proposal so I can share this work with a wider audience through traditional publishing. To do that, I’m working with a professional editor who’s helping me shape the proposal and refine sample chapters.

Here’s where I need your support.

Where the Funds Will Go:

$3,750 – Editing of the full proposal and one sample chapter (already in progress)

$750 – Possible second sample chapter (depending on publisher requirements)

$275/call – Coaching sessions to clarify structure, strategy, and positioning (I expect to need 2–3 more)

GoFundMe processing fees & buffer – To ensure all needs are covered

Additional funds– Will help me afford more editing/coaching if needed and begin planning early promotional efforts, like a small book tour, readings, or community events to share this message in person

I’ve already paid $2,150 out of pocket. With your help, I’m now aiming to raise $5,000 to fully cover the remaining proposal expenses and invest in next steps to bring this book to life. The $3750 was one of the "cheaper" options. With more money, I can "upgrade" the editing services.

Why This Matters
