Hello everyone,
I am reaching out with a heartfelt plea for my incredible mum, Sharon Goddard. For over a year now, Mum has been battling serious ovarian cancer while extensively researching this terrible disease to buy herself more time. Despite her strength and the best efforts of The Christie (where she has been and is still very well treated), her cancer has unfortunately returned, and we are now reaching the limits of what conventional treatments can offer.
About Mum:
Mum is a loving mother, grandmother, and dedicated friend. An inspirational teacher of English and Drama, she began her career at two inner-city schools in Manchester and has changed countless lives through her dedication to education and her unwavering support for her students. She still counts some of those students as her closest friends.
Beyond her professional life, Mum has always been a pillar of the community. Long before she was diagnosed, she regularly volunteered at the East Cheshire Hospice Charity Shop in Poynton. Mum loved this and hopes to return when she is well enough. She also raised substantial funds for The Christie hospital in Manchester by publishing a book of short stories with a group of dedicated women, all close friends, called "Tell Tales". In addition to this, she has voluntarily taught in local schools in both English and Drama. For over 10 years she has also run adult reading groups, free of charge, with the support of Marple Library. Sadly her diagnosis has meant she has had to stop many of these activities.
Why We Need Your Help:
So far, Mum and Dad have spent over £25,000, but now their savings are running out. They have put their family home up for sale but, as yet, have not had any success and are running out of time. We are seeking to explore alternative treatments that are not covered by the NHS. These treatments offer a ray of hope for extending and improving Mum’s quality of life. Unfortunately, none of these treatments are available on the NHS, and they come with significant costs that are far beyond their means.
How You Can Help
Any amount, no matter how small, will go directly towards funding alternative treatments, including Intravenous Vitamin C (IVC) therapy, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), and targeted chemotherapy in Germany. These innovative treatments bring us one step closer to giving Mum the fighting chance she deserves.
