Sharon's Breast Cancer Journey

Sharon's Breast Cancer Journey.
In October 2016, this beautiful mother was heartbreakingly diagnosed with Invasive Ductial Breast Cancer. While doing a self examination she noticed a lump in her breast. After scheduling a mammogram to get it looked at, she was concerned but hopeful that it was a begign tumor. During the mammogram the technicians became more concerned and convinced that this routine check was indeed cancer. Within a hour Sharon was not only subjected to a mammogram, but a painful invasive biospy and MRI. She never imagined that this would be the outcome. She was completey un-ready for this as she has been raising Isaac, her 6 year son, on her own since he was born. Isaac has required many medical tests, procedures, operations and treatments in his short time on this planet.
Sharon and her son are very loved locals of Victoria BC. Sharon is a truly compassionate and giving person who is a very vibrant, health conscious woman full of love. She has a deep passion in her heart for her son, living life to its fullest and caring so much for everything around her. This diagnosis has come as a total shock and she is beside herself with this news, but Sharon is a strong soul who is surrounded by tremendous amounts of loving support. With her faith in God, and the support around her we know she will recovery from this.
Mid October Sharon has to relucantly leave her job as a legal assistant to prepare for her Journey ahead.
In November she completed her surgery was was awaiting the result of that and a CT test. The surgical results showed that the tumor was removed but the some lymph-vascular invasion has occured. This was bad news. Thankfully the CT scan showed the cancer had not entered her bones or the rest of her body. The days leading up to these unknown results were intense and this has been a big relief. Radiation therapy, chemotherapy and hormone therapy had been advised. Upon further testing it was determined that chemo would not be very effective in treating her cancer. She is a very wise woman, and is looking into every avenue for healing, but is feeling very overwhelmed. In only the first week the cost for therapies, vitamins & supplements, specialty foods, etc has escalated very rapidly. She is also hoping to enroll into a oncological naturalpath in Port Moody to work with her which is also very expensive.

Driven by the love for her son we know Sharon will recover, but it is a tough challenge ahead of her. This donation page has been set up to help her with so many costs associated with treatments, her son, not being able to work and most importantly to let her rest - in body and mind so she can get through this and heal. Sharon has been a powerful advocate for her son and his multiple ongoing health concerns.
Sharon has celiac disease and their home is gluten free due to Sharon's severe sensitvity to cross contamination, and possibility of Isaac having this. Isaac has not had a biopsy for celiac disease because it's invasive, but since celiac is hereditary disease and he has digestive issues and Sharon has been told to keep him off it. He's on a limited variety of foods and textures because of GER, slow motility, and the feeding and swallowing issues to name a few, tracheamalacia and laryngomalacia, inefficient chewing pattern, and weak oropharyngeal muscles. The music therapy such as wind instruments, harmonica and singing were recommended by Isaac's doctor and occupational therapist when he was age 3, age 5, and again just 2 weeks ago.
Isaac was medically diagnosed as legally blind in one eye(20/70) due to amblyopia, but he also has visual deficiencies in Both eyes. His vision has improved from 20/70 to 20/30 with corrective bifocals. His vision in the eye that was blind has only improved to about 20/50 without the corrective bifocals. He has a long road ahead of him. His eyes are shaped differently; one eye is round and the other is egg shape. This causes a deficiency, which can't be corrected. He has multiple visual deficiencies. Daily and weekly vision exercises are part of costly vision therapy. These medical issues, treatments and therapies all come with a cost to Sharon.
Isaac has endured so much in his short life and his mom has been there fighting for her son every step of the way. It is this devotion and dedication that makes Sharon's story even more heartbreaking. Isaac needs his mom to be healthy and cancer free.
At this time, proceeding into healing and treatments any donation made will help Sharon beat her cancer! She hates that word (and :battle") and calls it a life re-awakening! Please know that any help will make this beautiful woman's life much more stress free, which is what she needs to make it through this! No one knows why these things happen. It seems so unfair to a mother with such a wonderful little son. We love you Sharon! You are one of the strongest and most inspiring women we know! You got this girl! You are safe and loved dearly! All your friends & family will help you through this every step of the way.Thank you so much for your support and prayers!
