A Mother’s Heartbroken Plea: In Memory of My Son

My name is Sharon Jennings, and I never imagined I’d be writing something like this. On Friday, July 25, 2025, my world was shattered. My son—my baby, my heart—was taken from me in the most senseless, heartbreaking way. His partener and his newborn son with two other children, his life was stolen by thieves trying to take his lawn equipment while he was out doing honest work—cutting someone’s yard to provide for his family.

He was only trying to build a better life. He was a young man with big dreams, a strong work ethic, and a heart full of love. He took pride in his work and even more pride in being a new dad. He couldn’t stop talking about his baby boy. He was so excited to raise him, to teach him how to be a good man. But now, my grandson will never get to grow up knowing his father’s voice, his laugh, his love.

As a mother, this pain is unbearable. No parent should ever have to bury their child—especially not like this. My son didn’t deserve this. He was doing what so many do every day—just working, trying to make an honest living. And now we’re left with questions, grief, and a future filled with painful “what ifs.”

I’m humbly asking for help. We are raising funds to support the family he leaves behind. Trust funds for the kids and bills to continue to be paid, especially the rent to keep a roof over their heads while his kids mother is on maternity leave.
