Hi my name is Sharlee Brown. I hate asking for help usually I’m the one who will drop everything to help some one in need but today I have to swallow my pride if anyone can share or donate or pray for me and my kids I would very much appreciate it! Today 4/26/26 my step daughter 2 of my sons and I took a drive to Hoopa to see family and support the fire hall bingo fundraiser. When it was over my little guy was begging to “go up the mountain” so we took a drive up to the cross that over looks the valley, before we planned on driving back home to the coast. Once up there I took my little guy out to take a picture and noticed smoke coming from under my car. I told my other kids to get out and I popped my hood and smoke started pouring out. I got the kids far away from my car and as we were walking away my car became fully engulfed in flames. I called 911 and the fire dept showed up, once they put the fire out I asked what they believed started the fire they said they wouldn’t know for sure unless there was a whole investigation but what they did know is the origin of fire was in the engine compartment. As a result my car, whole purse, all my cards, ID, Cash, car seat EVERYTHING GONE IN A MATTER OF SECONDS. In the moment I stayed calm because my kids were already freaking out but now I don’t know what to do. I created this go fund me because I am currently out of work due to being type 1 diabetic and having complications. I have no funds to get a new vehicle, new car seat for my little guy, or replace anything including the keys to my truck that were lost in the fire as well. I do owe about 19,000 on my car. I have full coverage insurance and I’m hoping that will cover what I owe if not close to it. For now I have to figure out how to get a down payment for a new car, a rental car, get my kids to and from school and make ends meet until I can get back on my feet.
