Title:
Help Me Ride Again: An Electric Trike for Life with Parkinson’s
Story:
Hi, my name is Shari, and many of you know me as a happy-go-lucky old hippie who’s always full of energy and joy — especially when I’m on the go!
Recently, I had to offload my car due to symptoms from Parkinson’s disease. I’m working hard every day to improve my balance and mobility, but for now, I can’t drive — and I’m not stable enough to ride a regular two-wheeled bike.
That’s where an electric tricycle comes in. It’s more than just a ride — it’s my path back to freedom. With three wheels and battery assistance, I could regain the ability to move around safely, run errands, and just feel like myself again.
Not having transportation is more than inconvenient — it’s isolating. Anyone who knows me knows I don’t like sitting still. I miss being out in my community, helping others, and living with purpose.
The trike I’m looking at costs around $2,000, including accessories (stable backrest). That’s a lot for me to afford right now, but I’m hoping friends, family, and kind-hearted folks who read this can help me get back on the road — safely and with dignity.
If you can give, I’m beyond grateful. If you can’t, just sharing this would mean the world. Thank you for helping me keep moving forward — one (electric-assisted) pedal at a time.
With love,
Shari
