My name is Sharique Siddiqui, and I am a 3rd-year MFA Film student at Ohio University School of Film. I have been making narrative short films for over 6 years, with some of them screening and getting awarded at various regional, national, and international film festivals. Over the past year or so, I have been exploring Cinematic Virtual-Reality as a medium of storytelling and have found it extremely exciting and nurturing as an artist on a personal level. This leads me to my thesis project.
I am excited to announce my MFA Thesis Film project, a 360° Cinematic VR film titled "Maya," inspired by the ancient Vedic concept of illusion and reality. This film aims to immerse audiences in a dreamlike journey, inviting them to explore the layers of perception and the fluidity of existence. This project means a lot to me as it not only gives me the opportunity to experiment and grow as an artist, but also to connect with my roots and dive deeper into Eastern philosophy.
To bring this vision to life, I need your support. I am seeking to raise $4,500 to cover essential production costs, particularly in set design, which will play a crucial role in creating the enchanting world of "Maya." Your contribution will not only help fund the physical elements of the film but also enable me to delve into the emerging medium of virtual reality storytelling, pushing the boundaries of creative expression.
By supporting this project, you will be part of a unique artistic endeavor that explores new narrative possibilities and offers viewers an unforgettable experience. Join me on this journey to transform ideas into a captivating visual reality. Every contribution, big or small, brings me one step closer to realizing this dream. Thank you for your support!
