My name is Shantelle and I’m asking for help during the most terrifying and critical time in my life.
I am trying to escape an abusive relationship and protect my baby from someone with a long and documented history of domestic violence. I have already taken the step of getting a protective order, but that alone is not enough to keep us safe long-term.
Right now, I am in a legal battle to get full custody of my child and finalize a divorce—but I cannot do this without an attorney.
I am scared every day of what could happen if I don’t have the legal support I need. This isn’t just about court paperwork—this is about my child’s safety, our future, and breaking free from a situation no one should have to live in.
I never wanted to have to ask for help like this, but I am running out of options. Legal fees are overwhelming, and without help, I risk losing the protection my baby and I so desperately need.
