Hi everyone,

My name is Shantal Hemmings, and I currently live in Florida. I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my family in Westmoreland, Jamaica, one of the areas most severely affected by the recent hurricane.

This storm has completely devastated our family.

My 14-year-old daughter’s home was destroyed, and she lost absolutely everything — her clothes, school supplies, furniture, and personal belongings. She now has nowhere safe to stay and is trying to cope with the heartbreak of losing her home.

My sister’s home was badly damaged, with part of the roof ripped off and severe flooding inside. She is currently caring for her 11-year-old daughter and her stepchildren, ages 7 and younger, while trying to make the best of extremely difficult conditions.

Both homes were directly in the path of the hurricane, and my family is now struggling to rebuild their lives from the ground up.

All funds raised will go directly toward:

Rebuilding my daughter’s home and replacing everything she lost

Repairing my sister’s home (roof, walls, and flood damage)

Purchasing building materials and covering labor costs

Replacing essential items such as beds, clothing, and kitchen supplies

Providing food, clean water, and basic necessities during the recovery period

I will personally withdraw the funds and ensure they are sent directly to my daughter and sister in Westmoreland. Every dollar will go toward rebuilding their homes and helping them start over.

This has been a heartbreaking time for our family, but any amount you can give — or even sharing this fundraiser — will make a meaningful difference.
