Support Shannon's Recovery from Double Ankle Fractures
Donation protected
Hello. My name is Shannon, aka "2 Broke Feet." LOL. I'm originally from Ohio and moved to Arizona in 2006. In my job, I am constantly on my feet. These are my money makers. LOL. Since the beginning of August 2024 I have had a difficult time, as I was hospitalized for 3 days and on medical leave for 3 weeks. I thought I was on the road to recovery, but what happens next, I fell and broke both of my ankles on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. The right ankle has one fracture and the left ankle has three fractures. My ortho/trauma team tells me that I will be off from work for quite some time and unsure when I will be able to return to normal activities. On Wednesday, December 4, surgery took place, and now I have two titanium plates to repair two of the three fractures on the left ankle, and a black stabilizing boot for the right ankle. When I am released from the hospital, I will be heading home with a wheelchair, walker, and a scooter, along with physical therapy and home care. This is going to be an adventure for me, as I am an active person and always on the go.
In the meantime, I will need to have patience as I am healing. I will be posting an update to my recovery process so you can follow along with my journey. I normally wouldn't ask for any type of assistance, but life happens. If you are able to donate to my fundraiser, it would be greatly appreciated. If not, please keep me in your thoughts during this time.
Update 12/9/14: I was discharged from the hospital and had to take a medical wheel chair transport to come home as I cannot get into my truck, let alone drive. I was discharged without any home care or physcial therapy in place. Even though I know my case worker is working on this and it has been approved, now it's just finding a company that is able to fit me into their schedule. I am so glad to be at home but on the other hand, its a bit stressful as I am dependant on my friends to assist me. I have a follow-up appointment with my primary care on Monday and an ortho appoinment on the 19th to see what the next steps will be. Until then, thank you to all that have assisted with this fundraiser. If you're not able to assist, please keep me in your thoughts during this time and also share this link for my fundraiser. Sincerely, Shannon.
