Support Shannon's Fight Against GBS
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Samantha, and I’m raising funds for my incredible sister Shannon — a loving, strong 38-year-old mother to her 12-year-old son, Oliver.
A few weeks ago, Shannon was just brushing her teeth when her knees suddenly gave out. She collapsed, hit her head, and suffered a concussion. At first, doctors thought it was a stroke. But after nearly three weeks of uncertainty and more than 100 tests — MRIs, CT scans, spinal taps, bloodwork, and more — she was finally diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), a rare and serious autoimmune disease where the body attacks its own nervous system.
Shannon’s condition has continued to worsen. She now has no feeling in her face, hands, feet, or legs. She’s been unable to walk or speak clearly and has been fed through a nasal feeding tube for nearly a month. She also developed pneumonia, which put her in full isolation and made breathing difficult.
Doctors began a five-day IVIG treatment, but sadly, she is not responding to it.
Her medical team is now preparing for the possibility that Shannon may need to be placed on life support with a tracheotomy if her breathing doesn’t improve soon.
She is still fighting — but this is the hardest fight of her life. And while she battles to survive, the world outside keeps moving. Shannon’s rent, car payments, and medical bills are piling up, and she has no income while hospitalized.
We’re raising money to ease the financial burden so she can focus on staying alive and healing.
Shannon has always been the one helping others — now she needs our help. Please consider donating or sharing this page with others who might be able to help. Every single share, prayer, and dollar makes a difference.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
