Help a Special Ed Teacher and Mom of 6 During Recovery
Hi everyone, my name is Shannon and I’m a special education teacher at an elementary school. I recently underwent a total knee replacement, and what was supposed to be a straightforward recovery has turned into a longer and more painful journey. Since the surgery, I’ve been battling severe swelling and pain in my left hip, and my doctor has not cleared me to return to work. Unfortunately, this means I’ve had to take unpaid leave and am now responsible for covering my own employee benefits out of pocket.
I’m a proud mother of six amazing children—three of whom have disabilities—and I’m also the primary caretaker for my elderly grandmother. My family depends on me, and being out of work has created a financial burden that’s quickly becoming overwhelming. I’ve fallen behind on medical bills and essential home expenses, and I’m struggling to afford groceries and basic necessities.
I’m reaching out for help during this difficult time. Any amount you can give will go directly toward covering my family’s basic needs—food, housing, utilities, medical expenses, and keeping our healthcare coverage intact. Your support means the world to us, and it will help me focus on healing without the added stress of financial hardship. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading and for any help you can offer.
