My husband, Shannon Stone, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, after an 8-year battle with leukemia. He was an ordained minister, a third-generation carpenter, a musician, as well as a loving husband, father, “Pop-pop,” son, brother, and uncle.
After a near-death experience, Shannon returned to remind everyone to “hold onto your peace.” In John 14:27, Jesus said: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. It is not as the world gives that I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, and do not let it be afraid.”
Shannon said, “No one can take your peace from you; you may give it away, but it can’t be taken. Hold onto your peace! If you lose it or give it to someone or some situation, find it again and hold on tightly.”
Shannon fought his battle with cancer bravely and ferociously. His end, while predicted, was certainly not expected! His end-of-life care and medical expenses are sizable and overwhelming in the midst of grief.
