Support Shannon Simon's Liver Transplant Journey

Hi, I am Shannon C. Simon. I live in Fresno, CA, and am currently on the liver transplant list at Stanford Med in Palo Alto, CA. I have severe liver failure (cirrhosis). Meaning my liver is past the point of regeneration and I am in need of a donor liver. This has been a rough, painful, interesting to say the least, journey. I have already been denied a liver transplant at USC KECK Med because the surgeon was afraid of cutting into the scar tissue and me bleeding out. My primary doctor suggested that I get a second opinion at Stanford Med, which has more experienced surgeons. They did not hesitate to see me and get me going in the process, which is reaching the end, so transplant could be soonish.

Although the pain, depression, and anxiety have overwhelmed me at points, the fact that my physical ability to work is almost non-existent is the hardest part. Not having an income but disability. I am an electrician by trade but have many, many skills. I loved my career!

Writing this is very difficult for me as I have a hard time asking for handouts. But I am swallowing my pride and posting this. Anything will help, even if it's words of encouragement, would be greatly appreciated!
