Support Shannon on her Cancer Journey

My name is Kaitlind and I'm starting this fundraiser to support my mum as she was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cervical cancer this past September. She was told her life expectancy was up to 2 years with chemoradiation. After hearing the short and long-term side effects, she opted to try anything and everything holistically first. Unfortunately, on December 30th the new MRI results showed significant growth with up to 1-year life expectancy. She has now decided to do radiation along with IV therapy and holistic in hopes to buy more time to make lasting memories with her children, family, and friends.

My mama's always been a force of kindness, beauty, and creativity in this world. She began raising me on her own when she was just 15 years old. She led my sister and me by example, teaching us to live passionately and to stand up for the people and things we believe in. She has always supported her friends and extended family any way she could, put herself through school, and became a self-employed caregiver to the elderly. She doesn’t receive any benefits and will truly be relying on the proceeds of this fundraiser to get through the next stages of her life. The funds raised here will go directly to supporting my mum during this difficult time, covering medical expenses, and toward the care of my little sister, Bella (age 16).

Cervical cancer is caused by sexually acquired infection with certain types of HPV. Two HPV types (16 and 18) cause 70% of cervical cancers and pre-cancerous cervical lesions.
