2ND UPDATE:Dear Community,
Shannon is home! We are deeply grateful for the overwhelming outpouring of love and support.
She has already met with her defense attorney and will meet with her immigration attorney next week.
While cases like this are typically lengthy and complex for U.S. citizens, Shannon's situation is even more delicate. The road ahead will be challenging, but with Shannon's strength, the support of our family, and the care of her amazing friends, we are confident we will get through this together.
Once again, thank you to everyone who prayed, reached out, and contributed to Shannon's defense.
She's home, and she's safe.
1ST UPDATE: First, a heartfelt thank you to everyone, especially those who have generously donated. Your support truly shows how much people care, and we are deeply grateful.
We’re currently working with an attorney and have learned that we need two separate legal experts: a criminal attorney and an immigration attorney. As many of you know, these legal processes can be expensive, and we need all the help we can get.
Today marks the 4th day without seeing our sister Shannon, and we’re hoping for a speedy resolution to this situation.
Again, thank you to everyone who has donated and for all your ongoing support. Please continue to keep Shannon in your thoughts and prayers.

Lea Su Historia A Continuación.
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,
We are reaching out to you in a time of great hardship for our beloved Shannon Mendez, who is a DACA recipient, who is currently facing a devastating and unjust situation. Shannon, a dedicated and loving aunt, sister, friend, and civilian, has been falsely accused, when she was trying to take care of her family, and has been wrongfully incarcerated. As an immigrant, she is vulnerable to a system that often does not take her rights and dignity into account.
Throughout her life, Shannon has worked tirelessly to build a better future for herself. She worked hard to pursue her education and complete her career, all on her own. Against many odds, she has always demonstrated resilience, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to achieving her goals. She has not only been an inspiration to the younger ones of our family but to her friends and others around her. She has fought endlessly for her own house and a degree at the University of Delaware. Her journey has been one of perseverance, and she has always strived to give back to her community meaningfully.
We ask for your support in helping Shannon, through this tough time. The legal process has been complex, and the costs of hiring a qualified attorney, securing proper legal representation, and addressing her immigration status are overwhelming. Shannon has always been a person who contributes positively to her community, and we know this injustice can be corrected with the right legal assistance and support. Anything you can contribute, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated. Your generosity and support mean the world to us during this incredibly challenging time.
Please consider donating and sharing this campaign with your network. Your kindness is truly a lifeline for Shannon, and we are deeply grateful for your help.
Thank you for standing with us and for Shannon Mendez.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Mendez/Silva Family
Queridos amigos, familiares
