I am posting on behalf of Shannon Boyd‘s family. Shannon who is only 56, was diagnosed with severe irreversible congestive heart failure. Shannon is a dedicated craftsman who has managed his heart complications over the last 25 years. He is a devoted husband, son, stepfather, and friend who has always been the first to help others. Shannon is quick to lend a hand to those in need. Now, Shannon and his family need our help to cover mounting medical bills and rehabilitation costs so they can focus on healing.
Shannon lives in Louisiana, but was transferred and admitted to Houston Methodist Hospital in Texas, for advanced care three weeks ago. Shannon underwent a procedure last week to have an Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) inserted as a temporary measure before surgery. Next week he will have surgery to implant a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD). This device will help circulate the blood in his body until he can receive a heart transplant. Shannon and his wife are required to stay in Houston for 2 - 1/2 months after his surgery.
The funds raised will help to cover his hospital bills, living expenses in Houston, health benefits, medications and costs associated with a heart transplant.
We are asking anyone who is able to please consider donating, so we can ease the burden, and support Shannon and his family during this difficult time.
