On January 22, Shannon was admitted to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN, after a 3cm tumor was found in her brain. A neurosurgeon performed surgery on her brain on January 27 to remove as much of the tumor as possible and reduce the swelling of her brain, but lymphoma was found in her brain stem.
She will be undergoing chemotherapy approximately once every three weeks for the next 5-6 months to treat the cancer with the hope of eradicating it. She will also require physical therapy, and we will be working with her to repair other impacted abilities such as fine motor control, speech, and reasoning.
Insurance has failed to cover many expenses that we naturally assumed would be covered, such as the ambulance ride which was denied at an amount of $6,000. Any donation would be appreciated to cover denied insurance claims, loss of income from time taken off work, and other medical expenses.
Shannon is on the path to recovery, and we all continue to pray for her healing and good health. We love her immensely and know she will be better soon. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
