My name is Shannelle Rushing, and I never imagined I would be asking for help like this. I’m sharing my story with honesty and hope, believing that community and compassion still matter.

What was supposed to be a routine surgery turned into a life threatening emergency. During the procedure, I experienced severe complications that placed me in a coma. While fighting for my life, I suffered nineteen seizures. Against all odds, I survived and I am still here today by the grace of God.

Surviving was only the beginning. Since waking up, my life has been turned upside down. I am currently in recovery and unable to return to work. Each day is a battle to regain my strength while managing ongoing medical care, follow‑up appointments, medications, and therapy. The physical and emotional toll has been overwhelming, and the financial strain has become more than I can carry alone.

I am also a single mother. My son is my entire world, and everything I do is for him. Not being able to fully provide for him during this time has been one of the hardest parts of this journey. I’ve always been the one who pushes through, who figures things out but right now, I need help.
