At just 43 years old, my cousin Shanna has been given news no one ever wants to hear—she has been diagnosed with cervical cancer. She is a devoted mother to three boys (ages 13, 14, and 25), and her world revolves around caring for them and making sure they have every chance at a bright future.

Right now, she is facing this fight without health insurance. She recently started a new job, but her coverage hasn’t yet begun. She urgently needs a PET-CT scan and access to specialists to begin her treatment plan, which includes chemotherapy, radiation, and immunotherapy. The financial burden is overwhelming, and no one should have to worry about how to pay for life-saving care while also fighting for their life.
