Hello, my name is Shanna Bent. I was born and raised in the Top Hill District, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. I migrated to the USA to live with my father and decided to stay permanently. After the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa to my mother’s house in the Top Hill District Junction P.O., I wanted to support and help my family.

The hurricane destroyed the roofing of my mother’s house, and the contractors estimated the cost of repairing the wire foundation and roofing to be $10,000 US, which is equivalent to $1,561,336.00. As a family, we have already raised $2,000 on our own, but we would greatly appreciate your support in raising the remaining funds.

The cost is higher than usual due to the increased demand for materials. This fundraiser aims to help my family rebuild their home after Hurricane Melissa devastated St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. My mother’s house was severely damaged, and we are unable to provide the financial support we would like to. Additionally, we are grieving the loss of a family member, and the funeral expenses will be overwhelming.
