On Monday, November 4, my dad suffered a massive stroke. His internal carotid artery was completely blocked by blood clots, which restricted blood flow to the right hemisphere of his brain. After being airlifted to Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford, the doctors performed surgery and placed two stents in his internal carotid artery.
After surgery, dad has no motor function on his left side other than a little movement in the left wrist. CT scans were taken, and a 7mm swell was found in the brain, affecting his cognitive thinking, awareness, and other important functions. The swelling is currently being treated through dehydration fluids.
We have a LONG journey of recovery and rehab ahead of us, so we are trying to remain optimistic in all aspects. Any help would be immensely appreciated!! Please keep my dad in your thoughts and prayers❤️❤️
