We are heartbroken to share the sudden passing of my brilliant and beautiful sister, Shani Saxon, on December 8, 2025. Shani has been my favorite person for my entire life. Now, her three incredible children, Jahari (22), Tahir (20), and Layla (14), are my favorite people.
Shani had an immense capacity for love, not just for her family, but for everyone she encountered. We know how many friends, colleagues, and community members cherished her spirit, her warmth, and her unwavering support. Your love for Shani is truly felt by the family now.
Shani was also a great mother. She poured her heart and everything she had into raising Jahari, Tahir, and Layla, always prioritizing their happiness and well-being. Her love for them was boundless, and she created a life for them that is filled with compassion, encouragement, and lots of joy.
Shani’s passing has left her children with financial challenges that just weren't part of the plan. They are now navigating the challenges of covering final and memorial expenses and maintaining household stability while they adjust to life without their mother. The coming months will require extra support to help them through this difficult transition.
The funds raised will help cover the cost of Shani’s cremation and a memorial service. They will also provide for legal and administrative fees, basic monthly needs like utilities, groceries, and insurance, and ensure the children, especially Layla, who is still a minor, can experience a compassionate and supported holiday season.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will go directly to Jahari to secure these vital services and support his siblings.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us honor Shani’s memory by standing with her children during this time of profound shock and grief. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us.
