My name is Shane, and I’ve been on medical leave from work since November 2024. I recently underwent hip replacement surgery, and during my recovery, doctors discovered I also need a heart valve replacement on the right side of my heart. This unexpected turn has made it impossible for me to return to work until I’ve fully healed from both procedures.

Throughout this journey, my wife has been my constant support, caring for me every step of the way. Unfortunately, my short-term disability benefits ended last month, leaving us without any income.
