Help Support Shane’s Recovery After a Tragic Hit-and-Run
On August 22nd, our friend and coworker Shane Mendiola was seriously injured in a devastating hit-and-run accident on Lake Boulevard in Redding. A trailer detached from a pickup truck, crossed into oncoming traffic, and struck Shane and another motorcyclist. The driver never stopped.
Shane sustained multiple broken bones, the loss of a finger and a toe, and faces a long, painful road to recovery. Despite his injuries, his spirit remains strong. Unfortunately, Shane does not qualify for emergency Medi-Cal, leaving him with fear for the medical bills and future care expenses that are to come.
If you know Shane, you know he has spent years working at a local community clinic, always putting others first and helping countless people in need. He’s not just an incredible coworker—he’s a beloved friend, a caring soul, and a talented musician. Losing a finger means he may never play the same way again, but we’re determined to help him heal and rebuild his life.
We’re asking for the community’s support during this incredibly difficult time. Anything you can give—big or small—will go directly toward Shane’s medical expenses, rehabilitation, and living costs while he recovers.
Please share this campaign to spread the word. Let’s show Shane the same kindness and support he has always shown others.
Thank you for helping us lift him up when he needs it most.
