A little while ago, I found out that I have throat cancer, but thankfully I'm still very early in the process. Over the next few weeks, I'll be starting radiation treatment, and I've been told this is a very treatable type with a good prognosis. I'm choosing to focus on that hope.

I wanted to say something now because over the years, I've watched too many friends quietly disappear into health battles, and I always wished I'd known what they were going through. I'd rather be upfront than have people wondering why I might disappear for a while or seem a little off. I'm doing okay, all things considered. Some days are naturally harder than others, but I'm trying to keep my sense of humor, stay positive, and take this one step at a time.

Knowing American healthcare, I have a feeling there may be a GoFundMe in my future, and here I am. The funds raised will help cover medical bills, treatment costs, and living expenses as I go through radiation and recovery. Asking for help has never been easy for me, and I honestly never imagined I'd find myself in this position.
