Support Shamokin Area's Adventure Curriculum
Donation protected
The Adventure Curriculum is an exciting educational opportunity for students attending Shamokin Area. The curriculum is designed to be an engaging and challenging addition to our Physical Education and Outdoor Recreation classes.
During adventure lessons, students are actively engaged in all areas of their total wellness: physical, mental/emotional, and social health. The educational benefits of the adventure curriculum for our students include: increased self-confidence, increased self-esteem, increased fitness, communication skills, respect for oneself and others, trust, cooperation, teamwork, and the list goes on. The adventure curriculum checks off all the social/emotional markers for a good mindset.
Please consider donating to sustain our adventure curriculum at Shamokin Area. The climbing industry retires specific equipment after 10 years. This summer we are in need of replacing our helmets, harnesses, lanyards, and ropes (approximately $12,000). Winning the $1.1 million grant 10 years ago was very exciting, and I am just as excited now to continue teaching all the adventure curriculum has to offer. Thank you for considering donating to this amazing offering at our school.
