Hi, my name is Shamari Martin. I'm 24 years old and I have an 8-month-old son. We've been homeless for about 6-7 months. I lost my job due to not having any childcare, and I've been sleeping in my car. If I have enough money, sometimes I stay in a hotel.

I'm stuck in Joliet, and they only give me a week in a shelter because I'm not a resident of Will County. It hurts because I have a car, but it's not in a condition to be driving away. I sleep in my car from time to time. I was staying with someone, but she put me out due to me losing my job. I just really need help. The money I did have to find shelter for me and my baby is gone. I only have $40 to my name, and it's hurting me because me and my baby have to sleep in the car tonight and it's super cold outside. I just don't want to keep going through this.

I've been trying to find housing, but everything is so expensive. I don't have any family, so I can't ask them for help. I'm not the type to beg, but if anybody can help me, I would really appreciate any resources or a prayer. I just want to be able to give my son somewhere nice to sleep for Christmas.
