Support Shaman's Brain Injury Recovery
Donation protected
Shaman Houpt suffered a traumatic brain injury when he fell at work on Wednesday, December 18th. He was rushed to Mercy, evaluated, and from there, life-flighted to Grand Junction. Diagnosed with a subdural hematoma, he is in a coma and has undergone surgery to remove part of his skull to relieve pressure and swelling.
Mandy, his mother, Ellen, and his kids - Taj and Lily, are all up in Grand Junction supporting him. They are staying near the hospital, but it is unknown how long Shaman will be in intensive care. Brain injuries, and particularly severe ones, such as Shaman's, typically result in long, slow recoveries, and the cognitive and physical changes that Shaman may experience will be unknown for quite some time. Recovery is measured in weeks and months, versus days.
Mandy and Shaman are both small-business owners and the financial impact this will have upon them is immense. They could use your support as they navigate this unexpected and incredibly challenging time.
