UPDATE August 2025:

Hi again! The last few months for Shaina have been a long road of copious amounts of doctor's appointments, running tests, obtaining some answers for what has been going on & unfortunately receiving further difficult news.

It has been recently discovered that Shaina has a large brain aneurysm along with blockages in two carotid arteries. She is currently being referred out to a team of Neurosurgeons at UCLA due to the complexities of what is going on, as this is intertwined & further complicated with the previously diagnosed cardiac issues.

In addition to still catching up with medical bills from the last few months, the copays for the number of appointments necessary right now, as the ball gets rolling towards surgery, are a major financial burden & are rapidly adding to all of the medical debt. Please help team up & come together for our DrumRat so she can continue to urgently attend the necessary appointments & scans that are required right now!

Hi! I'm reaching out on behalf of my dear friend, bandmate, and our favorite Drum Rat, Shaina, who recently faced a serious medical emergency. Following a cardiac syncope incident, she experienced difficulty breathing and extreme chest and abdominal pain, which resulted in her being hospitalized for two weeks. Initially suspected to be a heart attack or cardiac aneurysm, that was thankfully not the case! However, she was diagnosed with bradycardia, hypotension, cardiac syncope, and costochondritis (an excruciating musculoskeletal issue stemming from complications with Systemic Lupus).

Shane's conditions cause significant pain, particularly while standing for extended periods, making it currently tricky for her to film on set due to the long hours required. Unfortunately, this has also impacted her ability to perform, resulting in the cancellation of roughly two months' worth of gigs. I am happy to report that her recovery and pain management are going great thus far! It will involve several months of physical therapy, pain management, and numerous appointments with specialists.

This GoFundMe campaign aims to alleviate the financial burden of current medical bills, upcoming copays, upcoming medical expenses, missed work, and additional expenses like pet care during her hospitalization, in-home services, transportation, etc.

Your support will ensure that Shane can take the necessary time she needs to properly rest and recover fully before returning to working full-time, being as wild as we all know she loves to be while drumming for us on stage as well as getting her butt back to tearing up the lanes with her bowling squad!
