From Tajikistan to Columbia: Help Me Achieve My Dream

My name is Shahrom — one of the first Tajik students ever admitted to Columbia University. However, the total cost of tuition is equivalent to 7 years of average income in my home country Tajikistan. If you have the means to donate to help make my dream of going to Columbia a reality, please do!

Although the university provided generous financial aid package of $35 000 still cost of attendance beyond what my family and I can afford. I need your support to make my dream of going to one of the best universities in the world come true.

About me:

Growing up, I faced severe educational barriers, corporal punishment, and bullying. I didn’t even dream college was possible for someone like me. I started learning English 2 ago from scratch, and now, against all odds, I found myself holding an acceptance letter from Columbia University.

On top of that, after being diagnosed with ADHD a year and a half ago, I found a passion for psychological research. As a future Lion, I am excited to pursue groundbreaking research and to develop my startup focused on novel ADHD treatments & assessment. I want to help shape a world where neurodivergence doesn’t define or limit others’ opportunities the way it complicated mine.

Your support will help cover tuition, housing, food, health insurance, visa, and travel expenses. All funds will be transferred directly from my bank account to the university, the embassy, and airlines. I will report receipts as updates here to maintain full transparency.
