Support Shaena's Mom in Her Heart Disease Battle

For those of you that know us, my mom is my best friend. She was the sole caretaker of me and my brother for most of our lives, she is the matriarch of our family, and she is the kindest I know. Before getting sick, she went to church every Sunday, she made sure to carry water and snacks in her car in case she ran into a person in need, and if you ever came to our house, she made SURE you had something to eat.

For the past year, my mom has been struggling with heart disease. Last May, she had a heart attack that put her in the hospital for three months. During a stenting procedure, her heart went into Cardiogenic Shock and we almost lost her. She spent three weeks in the ICU in a medically induced coma, on the most amount of life support any human could be on, and then spent another two and a half months in hospitals and rehabs.

It has been on a long road back from the heart attack last May. She was finally walking with just a cane, driving herself around, and going out with her friends again when she had yet another heart attack. This was just a couple of months ago on March 17th. This time, she had to undergo open heart surgery because the stents from last year had re-occluded. She spent another 6 weeks in hospital and has just recently come home to us (thank God).

Today, we got the unfortunate news that her job is having to let her go. After nearly 20 years with the company, they are letting her go.

As you can imagine, the medical bills from last year are still coming in, the hospitals bills from this year are just now starting to come in, and now she has lost her job.

I am not one to normally ask for help. We are not ones to normally ask for help. But the timing of all of us this is just a bit much for our family to handle. So I am asking anyone that can help us navigate this difficult time to please donate to this fundraiser. Any amount is appreciated.
