My name is McKaela. I started this GoFundMe for my mother, Shaelyn, who was in a car accident on 11/11. This car accident was a head-on collision. She was in her Toyota Corolla when a truck swerved into her lane, leaving her with a broken neck and sternum. She was transferred to UC Davis hospital where she spent multiple days in the ICU. Her recovery will be at least 8 weeks and we hope to make those next two months as comfortable as we possible can for her. She has spent the past 17 years as a caregiver for work, and it is unclear if she will have the opportunity to ever physically return to the work that she has loved and poured her heart and soul into.

We are so lucky to have my mother with us still, and are grateful that we are dealing with this scenario, rather than the alternative. It is truly a miracle, and would appreciate anything to relieve the financial burden.

Our hope is to raise some money to help pay for her medical bills, living expenses, car replacement, and loss of work income.
