This beautiful young woman’s life changed in an instant on November 2nd. She came to Atlanta for a modeling event, but instead was kidnapped by her ex—who had cut off his ankle monitor while on parole—and shot ten times. Against all odds, she escaped and made it to a hospital, where doctors discovered her entire left side was shattered and she needed multiple life-saving surgeries.

It’s hard to imagine the pain and fear she has endured, yet through every dark moment, her strength continues to shine. Shaay has always been known for her glorious soul and a smile that could light up any room—and that same light is carrying her through this unimaginable trauma.

Her recovery will be long and incredibly difficult. She is unable to walk, faces extensive rehabilitation, and requires accessible housing and in-home medical care while her mother and sister support her here in Atlanta. Her greatest motivation is her amazing 4-year-old son, who has autism and needs stability, love, and the special-needs schooling that will help him during this transition.

We are also seeking support for legal representation to pursue charges not only against her ex, but also against those who knowingly failed to alert authorities while she was being held hostage.
