Our dog, Sgt. Pepperoni has had a sudden injury to his CCL (dog ACL equivalent) and a torn meniscus. He was supposed to leave with Courtney to travel to the fire lookout on April 29th, but instead he is undergoing surgery on May 7th to repair his injuries. He will be staying home with Mike while he recovers, and after an 8 week recovery we hope that he will be able to return to Courtney’s side at her post in mid-July. The total cost of his surgery is estimated at $6000, and on the heels of Courtney’s major seasonal expenses and at the end of the slow season for Tall Trees, we are hoping to offset this sudden cost with any donations.
