Earlier this week, Sergeant Omar Johnson and his wife, Alana, experienced every family’s nightmare when a fire tore through their apartment. While we are incredibly grateful that both Omar and his wife were not injured, the fire completely destroyed their home and everything inside it.
In a matter of minutes, they lost their belongings, clothing, personal items, and the place they called home. The road to rebuilding will be long, and right now they are starting over from scratch.
Sergeant Johnson has dedicated his career to serving and protecting the public as a member of the MTA Police Department. Day in and day out, he shows up for this job, for his fellow officers, and for the communities we protect. Now it’s our turn to show up for him.
We are asking members of the MTA Police Department family, friends, and anyone willing to help to consider making a donation. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help Omar and Alana begin to replace essential items, secure temporary housing, and take the first steps toward rebuilding their lives.
If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser to help spread the word.
Let’s come together as we always do in this job and support one of our own.
Thank you for your generosity and support.
