I’m asking our community to rally around someone who has quietly spent his entire career rallying around others — Honolulu Police Sergeant Nate Peipman.

While I was waiting for his spouse to start something - because it’s personal. I realized it was a lot to ask as she’s having to deal with not just her spouses battle but her mothers as well. So I’m going to start something in an effort to provide them with much needed funds. 100% is going to Nate and his ‘Ohana.

Nate is currently in the fight of his life, battling cancer. It’s been incredibly hard to watch. One day he seems steady and hopeful, and the next day the weight of treatment knocks him down. Cancer is cruel like that. But if there’s anyone I know who embodies resilience, it’s Nate.

He’s my neighbor. He’s my co-worker in the department. Most importantly, he’s family to me.

As a police officer, I’ve had the privilege of seeing firsthand the kind of man Nate is — and I can say without hesitation, he is one of the very best in our ranks. Not just because of how he does the job, but because of who he is while doing it.

Nate leads with compassion.

I’ve personally witnessed him buy plate lunches for homeless individuals, give away shoes to people in need, and offer help quietly, without cameras, without recognition, and without ever telling anyone. He doesn’t post about it. He doesn’t boast about it. He doesn’t want credit. He simply sees people as human beings and responds with heart.

He has always shown up for our community — especially for those who are overlooked or struggling.

Now he needs us.

Nate has been blessed with the opportunity to receive an experimental treatment that offers hope. But it requires extended travel to Oregon, and during this time, his family is navigating life as a single-income household. The financial and emotional toll is real.

The GoFundMe link is now live, and I’m asking — sincerely — for you to take action.

Please donate if you can.
If you’re unable to give, please share this post.
Send it to friends. Share it in your networks. Spread the word.

Let’s show Nate and his family the same compassion he has shown countless others over the years. Let’s surround them with the kind of aloha that makes Hawaii so special.

He has quietly carried so many.
Now it’s our turn to carry him.

Mahalo for your prayers, your support, and your generosity.
